Promise of Rain

Afters years of drought the properties throughout Western Queensland had run out of feed. Most of the sheep and cattle had been moved to other districts. Late on this afternoon storm clouds rolled in with the promise of rain. Thunder and lightning rumbled around us during the evening. Some rain came a few days later. Within months there were widespread floods and this barren red scene was covered in green grass. How quickly things can change.
